potted babies, what is this even?
Okay, so the plantsims in TS3 are pretty weird. Apparently they can turn themselves into a stick with leaves which is funny to me because I used to play WoW. That skill must come in handy for PIs.

SO I'm converting these things and then I run across the plant baby. How do you guys want this thing? (If you want it at all - it is super creepy.) In a pot? Halfway stuck in the ground? Randomly lying on a table? I'm open to suggestions/requests.

Oh my god that thing is terrifying. I'm sure some people could use it in a story setting, though!
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 25th March 2013 14:08 (UTC)
Yeah, in a horror story. I would pay to read that!
Almighty Hat: Visible Cleavagehat_plays_sims on 25th March 2013 12:41 (UTC)
... Is she using it as a Family Aspiration Failure flour sack baby?

Because I think I want that, that sounds awesome.
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 25th March 2013 14:12 (UTC)
Haha, it seemed appropriate at the time. I just moved the flower bag out of the shot and OSMP'd the plant baby in her arms, though. It looks okay from this angle but it's really too small to align properly through most of the animation.
shastakiss: kc yeti sledshastakiss on 25th March 2013 13:14 (UTC)
No. Words.
Hmm yes I'm just not sure I'd know how to use this, especially since I'm not a storyteller. It's creepy but there's something a little tiny bit cute about the potted one on the table peeking out?
Your choice!
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 25th March 2013 14:15 (UTC)
Sounds good to me! Wouldn't you just love to have that in the corner of the room peeking out at you while you sleep? Now I'm just looking for a better pot, that's the hydrophonic one and it's kinda boring.
psychosim: zombiefunpsychosim on 27th March 2013 10:15 (UTC)
You know that hydroponic garden, the career reward? Make that with all little baby heads in it. Now that would be super duper creepy!

I have actually been figuring out whether I could make that work or not! I have all the meshes needed and it would be pretty cute if they could harvest a baby plantsim to sell or something. It's on my "to-try" list.

Is it terribly wrong I kinda want to cook it ... ?
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 26th March 2013 05:55 (UTC)
Haha, that's pretty wrong. I think they're based on dragon fruit though, which is delicious.
misty_fluff: misty_fluffmisty_fluff on 26th March 2013 06:49 (UTC)

Turning into a stick with leaves would be indeed the perfect disguise for a PI. Those bushes they are holding up to disguise themselves are a parody, at best. :D
I guess I'm the odd gal out because I don't think the plant baby is creepy at all. I just don't imagine it as a normal baby but a different lifeform. Also, I'm a 'Legend of Zelda' fan and they remind me a bit of the Deku Shrubs which I always found cute, despite them spitting nuts when threatened. :)
Relating to your question: I would prefer the baby in a pot, but like you I think the hydrophonic one is a bit too bland. When you want to use a Maxis match pot you could perhaps take the colorful cactus pots from Freetime. I, myself, especially like the half barrel pots from the Sims3 Pets expansion, but then, I'm the odd ball. :)
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 26th March 2013 10:37 (UTC)
The FT cactus is exactly the pot I'm going for! We must be secretly psychic. I'll have to check out the pets pot, I can't recall which it is off the top of my head now.

Aww, deku shrubs! I'm a huge Zelda fan myself. I used to play it on the old Nintendo NES when I was in highschool and I bought a gameboy just so I could play the Minish Cap.
misty_fluff: misty_fluffmisty_fluff on 27th March 2013 07:28 (UTC)

Good ol' Nintendo NES, I still have one standing around somewhere.
I've just bought a Nintendo 3DS just to play 'Ocarina of Time 3D' and I really hope they finally make up their mind to release 'Majora's Mask' as well. It's so comfortable to play in bed rather than in front of a TV. :)
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 27th March 2013 14:12 (UTC)
It is, isn't it! I love having it on flights or trains when I'm traveling, even if people look at me a bit strangely because I'm 25. :D

I bought the gameboy mini *just* before the DS came out which was unfortunate, but that was years ago so I can probably get one now without feeling too silly. How is the 3DS?
misty_fluff: misty_fluffmisty_fluff on 28th March 2013 08:08 (UTC)
I think it's mostly worth its money. It has a lot of features like an inbuilt camera and an Internet browser (though I'm not taking advantage of this) and the screen is big enough to not overstrain my eyes. However, I largely play the game in 2D mode instead of tuning in on the 3D effects as the depths of the 3-D images are causing me dizziness after a certain amount of time.

Edit: 25, pssh. Add 20 years to that and you know how strangely people can look. :D

I'm not a big fan of 3D myself so I'm glad to hear you can turn it off. Looks like I know what's next on my to-buy list. I wish there were more adults playing handhelds on public transports! It sounds pretty hardcore to me. <3

Always happy to help HP simmers out! I'm actually playing the marauders through university in my TS3 testing game right now lol.

I'll upload them as soon as I have some time to work on them, next weekend at the latest :)

I'm sure I could find a use for them. I like all the different ones you have here in this picture.
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 27th March 2013 06:50 (UTC)
I bet you could, according to TS3 you can create them either through gardening or science.
Penelope TPenelope T on 26th March 2013 22:11 (UTC)
Must admit, though this is totally creepy, I could not look away. Curious to see what you do with these.
delonariel: en rosedelonariel on 27th March 2013 06:54 (UTC)
I'm going with the three versions you see there but in the FT cactus pot. It's gonna be really interesting to see if other people can make any use of these.
